Energy Emission Analysis is the cornerstone of Peter Mandel’s energy diagnosis techniques which includes visual evaluation, Iris diagnosis and the EEA. The EEA is a method for photographing the energetic radiation emitted from the fingers and toes. The issue of addiction and the propensity for relapse in chronic addiction is very complex. In this webinar we intend to explore the brain science and treatments useful for addressing the various stages of recovery starting with detoxification, brain repair and in the long haul helping clients learn to orient to their own paths and subtle psychic energies. These practices can be very easily integrated into acupuncture sessions for support with addiction recovery.

Dependency or addiction is seen as a compulsive requirement or demand for a certain substance or behavior pattern. It is differentiated between psychological and physical dependency. For true dependency there is a prerequisite that a substance reaches into the brain, interacts there with the nerve cells and changes their functions. Substances of addiction have an exciting/activating effect and simultaneously subduing effect. When people have a deficit of inner gratification/reward this so called bi-polar effect is subjectively experienced as very comforting. To work with the causality of these deep emotional patterns we start with issues related to the prenatal period.

The development of the Limbic system is complete in the sixth week of pregnancy and somatic memories start to be laid down in the brain. Subsequently the phases of puberty can lead to addiction under certain circumstances. Martin Teicher a Harvard MD confirms through his research that psychic traumas, sexual misuse and the effects of violence cause a restriction of the Limbic system, in the area of the temporal lobe and also narrowing in the Corpus Callosum.

Over eighty million people in America are listed as being on medication for sleep disorders. Insomnia is a common condition that people use acupuncture for. In this webinar we will show how sleeping and dreaming repair vital bodily functions and help reduce psychological strains.

The intention of the webinar is to show therapies to regulate the symptoms and also investigate the causes.

Sleep has enemies such as alcohol, medications like antidepressants and stimulants. Psychological stress is also a key factor and it has physical consequences like hyper-acidity firstly in the stomach and eventually the entire gastrointestinal tract. Also when the sleep cycle is disrupted there’s a loss of the rhythmic sequence of REM dream sleep connected with brain regeneration and non REM sleep connected with body regeneration. There are other physical outcomes such as increase in blood acid and decreases in hemoglobin. Over months and years we can observe degeneration of all the mucous membranes especially the intestines. That opens the possibility of fungus infestations, allergic reactions and bacterial overgrowth which create the basis for autoimmune aggressive diseases and changes in the individual’s nature.

In this webinar we intend to show how a disturbance in the sleep rhythm and hence dreaming or REM sleep are connected. Sleep has four phases from light sleep to the deep cycle. The interludes are the REM phases. Test subjects who were prevented from dreaming behaved during the day with irritation, lack of concentration, memory failures and a decrease in creative thinking. In test subjects it seems the subconscious gives a priority to dreams over sleep. The sleep was disturbed and the deep sleep phases decreased and in increasingly shorter intervals the test subject attempted to reach the REM phase.

“If we don’t know what to do in our lives anymore we have to hold onto a symbol. We have to study why certain things happen in our lives and what is the meaning of it? You don’t have to do this rigidly. A symbol always opens a possibility for interpretation to get an idea in which line of thinking we can consider.

The pelvis for example is a symbol of your territory. If a woman has excess menstrual bleeding for example, it means she often got hurt in maintaining that territory. There is a conflict within her territory. These women often had a chain around their necks and not enough space to move as they wanted.

Through treatment the person can learn to protect their territory and understand where it is and how to be in it. Reactions in the body of a client can point to symbols. Often the person is not recognizing the wholeness of the symbol because of the polarization in their thinking. If a symbol is not understood it becomes a blockage or a sickness which again expresses this symbol. If a human being moves in this world with both sides of their brain awake they will grasp the symbolic meaning of life and develop more quickly spiritually.”

Through many years of research Peter Mandel has developed a treatment system projecting hexagrams of the I Ching onto the skin. Working with Death and Dying

Traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine hold views unique from Western medicine on the nature of signs of death and in the treatment for patients at the time of death. Western medicine uses physiological phenomena to identify signs of dying. Chinese medicine believes signs of dying can be summarized as different symptom complexes and doesn’t lay emphasis on single symptoms. If signs of dying are observed in patients, Chinese physicians continue to treat the source of disease laying emphasis on clarity of mind, which enables the body to protect itself from outside invasion and improve symptoms.

When speaking about therapies for children Peter Mandel has referenced the work of neuro-psychiatrist Professor Teicher and his team stating that all feelings and experiences of the pre-natal time are stored in the Limbic brain from the sixth week of pregnancy. Subsequently abuse experiences, psychological traumas without the use of violence, blows to the head or sexual abuse affect the Limbic system, Corpus Collosum and the temporal lobes of the brain and these experiences condition the development of hemispheric specialization in the brain.

While adverse fetal and early child experiences can lead to physical and chemical disruptions in the brain that can last a lifetime, children are not doomed to poor outcomes. Development is a highly interactive process, the environment in which one develops before and soon after birth provides powerful experiences that can chemically modify certain genes in ways that define how they are expressed. In-fact severe neglect appears to be at least as great a threat to health and development as physical abuse. Children who have been traumatized need to be in environments that restore their sense of safety, control and predictability and they require therapeutic care to facilitate their recovery.

In this seminar we’ll extend on the therapies presented in Fausto Pagnamenta’s wonderful book “Children in the Light” to present some new possibilities for working with children to help restore their capacity to adapt and thrive in spite of adversity through interactive supportive relationships, biological systems and gene expression.
